On February 18th, 2009 Sustainability Media attended the San Francisco Plugin Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) Showcase in front of San Francisco's City Hall. Mayor Gavin Newsom attended and delivered a passionate endorsement of the technology and the partnerships the Showcase represented. The plan is a partnership between The City of San Francisco, Zipcar, City Carshare and Coloumb Technologies and delivers a fleet of PHEV vehicles and charging stations parked right in front of City Hall. The program is the next of many steps the Mayor has to make the Bay Area the "EV Capital of the World." The partnership between the city's two most popular car sharing options and these alternative fuel vehicles a huge boost to each solution to the climate crisis and our dependency on the petroleum based economy. Hurray for all involved and here's to many more success and milestones for these efforts to come!
