Concious Capitalism: Pipe dream or Way of the Future?

When we speak about capitalism in the world today the very notion does not necessarily correlate with being conscious of anything other than buisness models and maximizing profit.  Industrial efforts have yielded an ever globalized work force that our predecestors could not have fully appreciated would span the globe the way it does today.  But where do we go from here?  Do we focus only on profit margins and increasing the sale of commodible goods to the greater public?? Or can we temper captialism with a conscious?  Can we give it sense of culture beyond just spending and earning?  Could we even make the world a better place through this shift? Some would say the answer to those questions has been emerging in a movement called "Conscious Captialism." It is believed the term was first coined by Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Laurette and founder of Gramming Bank.  Conscious Captialism formed an initative in August 2006 to begin discussing these ideas in conferences and gatherings in an effort to bolster and strengthen the idea of business models with a social conscious which could create meaningful impact on the communities they touch.

This year's conference Conscious Capitalism brought together three of the most influential leaders in the field to share their insight, experience, and a peek into the future of Conscious Capitalism and globalized business. Heroes indeed, the keynote speakers were only three strong but they are literally legends in the world of Conscious Captialism.  Whole Foods Co-Founder and Co-CEO, John Mackey spoke about _____ .  Previous Trader Joe's President and now CEO of Conscious Capitalism Inc., Doug Rauch, joined to speak about _______.  Dr. Raj Sisodia, Ph.D., author of world reknown business model book, "Firms of Endearment: How World Class Companies Profit from Passion and Purpose" spoke at the conference as well.

In April 2013, FORA TV taped the Conscious Capitalism conference for 2013.  FORA TV asked Sustainability Media to come on board to help capture this footage with our HD switcher fly pack, cameras, and crew; Of course, we said yes!  Through the efforts of FORA TV the content of Conscious Capitalism 2013:Heroes of the Business World is now available for viewers everywhere to stream and imagine how these theories will grow and shape the business models of tomorrow's future.
